Hi MUHAMMAD ADA HARITHB N JEFFERY!
This is the first time ive heard multiple devices holding one phone number. Usually its multiple numbers in one device.
Appreciate the suggestion though! It sounds interesting and i'll make sure to bring this to the attention of our management team. Again, thank you and see you around the community! ๐Ÿ˜Š

MUHAMMAD ADA HARITHB N JEFFERY thanks for the suggestion! and welcome to our community as well ;)

We did mull over this at an earlier stage tbh, it's not something new, there are local telcos with this product of having additional simcard either with the same number or under the same account (which shares the data etc).

It all comes down to use-cases, in most situation people are looking to use on another device to share the data. Like I can have a Phone with all the usual Data/Voice/SMS and I want my iPad to use the Data Sim card from this same line.

All those telcos, local and abroad who does this, have it on their Postpaid plans, and these aren't cheap plans. That's why it makes sense for someone who's paying RM 80 / 100 or 150 to want to share their data without paying for another line. Also some of them will charge RM 5 or more for that extra simcard to share data every month. Don't forget the contract period :)

At Yoodo, we went ahead with the customization option. Meaning under my account, on the same app and view, I can manage 2 numbers (up to 5). I can select a normal plan for main number (or unlimited), and choose only Data for a sim card I use on my iPad (this is what I'm doing currently). And on my iPad, I actually only use 2Gb for cause mostly have wifi, but it's for safety if I use it outdoors, don't need to always tether. To add on, I used a nokia flip phone for a while but only for whatsapp, so I had min data on it, then I needed to reply SMSes, so bought just that. The flexibility to add/remove when something isn't needed without being tied up to anything is priceless.

Can go on with other examples but it comes down to the user cause as we always say #youdoitbetter . Yoodo offers the options for the customer to be in charge, if need data for devices, then buy and buy only as much as you need, compared to being on postpaid, you're stuck with that amount until your contract ends. Don't pay and line gets barred etc. Also, the combined price is still pretty reasonable and in most cases lower than postpaid with extra sim.

So yea, super long reply but just wanted to explain where we're at this moment in Yoodo. Not saying we'll never do same number extra sim, but its definitely not something that we see being done in the near to moderate future :)

Hi HONG CHENG YUE, welcome to our Community!

Actually even now, at least on iOS, when my phone rings, so does it on iPad. Both have different numbers but same apple id. I notice it only does that when I'm on the same wifi.

Salam Muhammad Ada, thanks for your suggestion. And thanks jeff for your response.
Currently reading about it on T-Mobile website, interesting ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป. Imagine if you can use it on apple watch or any smart watch that can support sim/ e-sim? You can just go for a run, swimming without bringing your phone.
But I just wonder. How strong is the security, because sensitive information such as TAC number can be distributed to your other devices.

For safety privacy and worry of clone Sim.
Multi-sim or same number is NOT advised because hacker can simply clone our Sim without consent.

But you can open up to 5 Sim with different numbers under same Yoodo account, this will be safer for us.

yup you guys are right, sim cards can be cloned, in general you will see tech people suggesting to not have multiple/duplicate sim with same numbers for this reason :)

currently im using an ipad and an iphone , since i need two sims .. okay lets say both have different numbers under the same account , is it possible for both numbers to share data from the user account , so pay less but more data and maybe additional charges on the extra sim with different number .. just a thought that came through .. thanks in advance !

hi MUHAMMAD ADA HARITHB N JEFFERY, good follow up question! I've actually answered this scenario on my reply above, I'm using the same for an iPhone & iPad.

Salam Muhammad Ada, currently data not transferable within the same user account. You can practice like how jeff did. Some of us here use 2 Yoodo SIM card for their device. One for data and another one for calls. So if you running out of data, just renew the one with the data plan.
