No comments so far, let's the markets decide the trends.

If 6mbps getting popular then it'll stay remain.

Yoodo only got 260k registered users, so there is low possibility to abusing networks. Plus Yoodo can introduce more strict policy in future if heavy abusers detected.

for now the possibility of not abusing network, yes, it is low. after introducing this plan, i am sure 200% people will noticed and consider to MNP to Yoodo. It is very predictable, where got sugar, the ants come. And there you go, problem begins, more congestion, Hooray!

Also I hope no FUP implemented. But some problems cant be handled as easy as showering. If FUP implemented, I hope it is not below than 300GB. In my opinion, 300GB is very mobile usage for very heavy mobile usage (such as gamer, which each update commonly very large more than 1GB, and stream their favourite streamer at twitch)

for the time being i think that is not a problem bcs the existing user is not too much compare to the other telco and it is irrelevant to comparing to other telco as we dont know how every telco overcome their own problem

Read my comment above... Ants like sweets.

This problem is an economic problem, people buy when things cheaper.

I kind of agree. If yoodo implement this correctly. It will benefit the user and the brand. Make yoodo different from the other.

At least now we have more options to choose. May be some time we need unlimited plan. Let the user to choose which plan is best for them.

Salam Muhammad Izzul, frankly you have a valid point here. But at the same time all of us know telco business is very competitive. For me reasons Yoodo came out with this new plan is to remain competitive and relevant in the industry.
But let's hope Yoodo and Celcom have everything figure out to tackle this issue.

Look into the future; 5G is the future and is very near. Eventually a limited data plan will be laughed out of the building by the users, and abusers will too find themselves silly, like why downloading all these stuff and save in your many mere TBs hard drives when you can just stream it or access it in the cloud, it's like buying tv shows boxset in 2020, very impractical.

True, should skip the abusing habit as nowadays unlimited getting affordable.

Download is OK but don't too greedy until kept sucking bandwidth...
    It's very selfish attitude.

Yes, 5G is the future, about 2 years later. Currently, it is not really suitable for Celcom infrastructure. And those many abuser also are subcriber to illegal Asxro IPTV with all channel at cheap price. Sometimes they like to download remux movies which each movies cost more than 30GB.

Not to worry lah! Yoodo is a MVNO, there are many more telcos riding on the same Celcom network. If other telcos congested, Yoodo will also be affected.

Just let the Celcom technical to worry about the capacity planning, Yoodo should get as much users as possible to have higher bargaining power as MVNO to demand for more quality service from Celcom. That's business.

thanks for the feedbacks, and suggestions everyone! and MUHAMMAD IZZUL FAIZIEBIN MD YAZID for raising this up.

Saw this post earlier, but wanted to see what others think as well.

First off, it's a legit thought process, I can see where you're coming from. Some of the comments above are correct, Yoodo is powered by Celcom, well we are Celcom's own MVNO, as in owned and operated by Celcom. There are few more MVNOs who are on Celcom's network as well. We all share the same network.

the 3 or 4 or 6mbps refers to speed, not bandwidth. Even if you choose 3mbps, it doesn't mean you get 3mbps fixed, all time, everywhere. What that means is that you can up to 3mbps.

Longer answer: There are many variables that contribute to this, like the coverage, signal strength, number of connected users from the celltower that's servicing your location, and if you're moving about, where you're connected, even the device capability and many more. This is the same with broadband as well, like I'm on 300mbps at home, but not every time when I do speedtest, I get that speed. Most times, yea sometimes hardly.

So to the congestion question, it doesn't happen because of the speed per se, doesn't happen even if ALL our current users change their plan to unlimited 6mbps, it might happen if every Malaysian decide to switch to celcom and/or it's MVNOs, but that's a good problem cause when there's an increase in userbase, telcos do more aggressive upgrades to cater to the base. BTW these are also monitored and governed by the ministry to ensure xx% of country is covered, the acceptable speed levels and so on, so yea we have to abide by it!

    Hope that clarifies! :)

Well Explained Jeff, I also hope that now Yoodo can assign 24/7 technicians standby to prevent midnight Outages since Yoodo getting bigger with over quarter of millions user base.

Thanks to theJeff for taking your time responding to this thread 👍🏻.
