Managed to bring the family to Desaru, Johor over the weekend for some holiday .. gotta say, I was really impressed! The sand is perfect! water is clear! It's the kind of sand where you can build sandcastles nicely! No matter how much you did, the water comes up clean! (not like Port Dickson, when you walk on the sea feels like stepping on poop) haha
Go check it out if you've never been there.. some of the hotels are pretty atas, but it's worth the experience. Also has a huge waterpark, which I didn't visit.. no time, only lepak at beach whole day lol
Where else got cun beach like this? personal experience only please... don't want youtube or hotel brochure haha
Also .. it was nice to see majority local, Malaysians for once in the hotel or beach area.. feels different, in a nice way! :D

Alternatively, can visit Tanjung Piai, got cheap seafood and water chalets.
Tanjung Piai is a cape in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia. It is the southernmost point of Peninsular Malaysia and thus the most southern point of mainland Eurasia. The skyline of Singapore is visible across the Johor Strait from the point.
