VOLTE

Hi TENG JONG YANG, welcome to our Community :)
Yup, 3G sunset is happening nationwide.. which affects the voice call. Yoodo should be having VoLTE in phase very soon and hopefully most areas have it by end of year.

My area is affected too due to 3G shutdown. My case is worse where my phone is frequently out of coverage while searching for 3G and GSM will take a while to kick in. However, I noticed in area where Maxis has also shut down their 3G, their line is very stable locking in at GSM and there seems to be no effect to their calling experience. Looks like Maxis is doing it far better than Celcom in this network transition.

Hopefully the volte feature will be rolled out as soon as possible. I can't receive incoming calls while on 4g network. I have to switch to 2g network manually in order to receive calls. Then switch back to 4g manually to use data. I'm afraid if I miss any important call while I'm on 4g. This is totally nightmare!!

This is one of the weaknesses of Yoodo/Celcom network. Apparently the switch from 4G/3G to GSM upon incoming or outgoing calls aren't well managed like what I have mentioned and posted earlier. However, my other line with Hotlink has no such issue with their 3G shutdown. Though Yoodo has just announced their VoLTE rollout but having VoLTE won't solve this issue immediately. By the way, I can't find the list of their VoLTE supported devices on their website either. No web link has been posted too. Way to go... Yoodo.

That's true. The transition from 4G to 2G on incoming and outgoing calls for yoodo is not smooth. When I make an outgoing while on 4G, it usually takes quite sometime to get the ringing. Sometimes, I couldn't make any call at all. Receiving call is worse while on 4G. I cannot receive any call at all. I have to switch to 2G manually to make and receive call smoothly. The network should automatically switch from 4G to 2G when there's an incoming or outgoing call. But this doesn't happen with yoodo.

Starting your New Year 2022 with the EDGE? Haha, that's considerably still good. My Yoodo line is totally out of coverage for the past 2 hours until I forced it to be triggered under 4G, else it'll just keep sleeping in the "no man's zone". Luckily I still have my Hotlink line for back-up. Maxis line is very responsive and always in the right channel of reception.

I guess most users would have been informed of their VoLTE eligibility by now. A bit disappointed of their supported devices which is still very limited. Anyhow, I'm switching over to YES for their 5G service now. YES has launched their 5G service in KL, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and they are the first in Malaysia to have 5G. While Yoodo is just starting with the VoLTE, I think the rest of the world is already starting to move towards the 5G era. Good-bye Yoodo. But I believe one day we shall meet again.
