Hi LAURA CHAN PEI YIAN yup! hope so, but it's not a Yoodo thing, it's an Apple thing.. will update everyone once we hear from them. Thanks :)

I didn’t update my iPhone (Current ios 12.0.1) and tried to change my apn but no luck? Is it also normal that my telco is showing CELCOM? remembered i used yoodo sim on an android and it showed yoodo?

It's OK no matters showing Celcom or Yoodo, the APN only need to set to Yoodo when you roaming abroad.

Please don’t say it’s apple issue for not able to change apn. With my previous experiences in using roaming service with Digi it’s seamless where no Apn changes is required.

So Yoodo technical team should ask themselves why the hassle of changing apn in order to use roaming data instead of saying it’s Apple issue. Please focus on your customer experience..to be honest since I switched to Yoodo the customer service experience had been NG and I am not surprised considering it’s under Celcom where I had bad experiences with them long ago.

    Hi Khoo,

I've checked with Yoodo side, it's was because that Apple iOS locked to 1 APN per carrier, and that's why by default APN is celcom3g.

In Malaysia, you can browsing internet with any APN like celcom3g or yoodo.

But in order to roaming, you need to change APN to yoodo.

That’s the thing. If either one can be used in Malaysia to browse the internet then why not just set it to Yoodo as default so the same can be used in oversea for dats roaming. By doing so you don’t even need to change it at the first place when we go oversea trying to use data roaming.

Guess what? I also asked the same thing too.

But got reply is because Yoodo only riding Celcom Network like other MNVO but using all separately teams, servers, billings, products/services, backend stuffs and of course RLH/RLH2 agreements is using Yoodo ownselves.

Therefore, you need to amend APN become Yoodo for global roaming usage as Yoodo only riding Celcom network domestically but roaming partners agreements is Yoodo itself. That's why Yoodo only charges RM10/20 instead of RM30ish.

The reason of you can surfing internet domestic with any celcom3g or yoodo APN is because Yoodo kept their promises without capping or throttling like other telco did, hence you can surfing fastest speed as long as your quota still remained and subject to the distance of celltower and your phone frequency capabilities.

So, my best advice is just change once time APN to yoodo, then you can surf in both Malaysia and Global.

Yea so Yoodo should have just DEFAULT APN to Yoodo. No need hassle to change when roaming since this will work for both domestic and roaming. And this issue has been for quite some time and Is there any effort from Yoodo to set the default APN to Yoodo!?

    Hi Khoo,

I'm also agreed with you, in fact already proposed same idea earlier.

But it's was iOS limitation that only 1 APN that tied with each carrier, which is Celcom by default.

For example, when we insert simcard into Android phone, it'll showed Yoodo indeed.

Anyone tested this with iPhone data roaming and managed to get 4g?

Not every countries Telcos/Govts offer 4G for foreigners, subject to that country Govt/Telco's policy.

For example, some countries will only gave your 3G roaming connection only, and 3 districts of Southern Thailands was banned roaming.

**Rest assured that mostly roaming 3G is OUTPERFORMED than Malaysia's average 4G speed, at least it's surfing fast between 3Mbps till 15Mbps, TESTED myself.
