[IDEA] Carrier Billing for Google Play Store and Apple App Store
I'm surprised that absolutely no one in the community has mentioned it yet, so I decided to create this thread for showing demand. For those who don't know, I've complied a Q&A section below.
Q: What's carrier billing?
By using carrier billing, you use your SIM card to pay for anything in either the Play Store or App store, either through the balance inside (if prepaid) or via bill the next month (if postpaid).
Q: How would Yoodo make this work?
A: See the wallet button at the top right corner of Yoodo app? That's how. As long as they start implementing credit topups they already opened the door for implementing carrier billing, which also means opening up for more payments options (i.e. not restricted to bank cards/PayPal anymore).
If ookyo has been doing this since the beginning then Yoodo can also do the same.
Q: I am already using bank cards/PayPal to pay for my Yoodo bills, why would I need to waste my time topping up the wallet to buy things?
A: I admit that it's quite hypocritical but hear me out; Yoodo *can* provide rewards for using Yoodo credits to make the option more attractive. And here's more reasons:
- I'm not sure if we have the promotion anymore but when you first signed up, you get RM20 credits for free (to use them on Yoodo plans and boosters). But recently Boost Wallet teamed up with Yoodo to offer another RM20 Yoodo credits promo codes for, sadly, new users. This does mean Yoodo can team up with other companies to give away credits etc.
- With the above in mind, Yoodo can also do what its competitor Ookyo did; offer a certain percentage of cashback from any RM spent on Yoodo.
- ...even more possibilities
